Bill Nelson Memorial Foundation
The foundation has been created in loving memory of Bill Nelson who radiated kindness, compassion, selfless friendship, and joy. In that spirit, the goal of the foundation is to provide that same feeling of joy to underserved children by hosting them at the sports venues which Bill loved throughout his life. Kids will attend a Cubs game, a Northwestern football game, or a Northwestern basketball game enjoying food and drink and the unique spirit of camaraderie these events create.

The Bill Nelson Memorial Foundation has partnered with Youth & Opportunity United (Y.O.U.) to assist with the implementation of events. Y.O.U is a non-profit organization that works to close the opportunity gap in our communities and prepare youth for success. We provide academic, social, and emotional support to 1,600 youth and young adults, ages 8-22, each year in Evanston, Skokie, and Morton Grove. Y.O.U.’s Out-of-School-Time Programs include enrichment opportunities for youth and their families. Y.O.U. is proud to partner with the Bill Nelson Memorial Foundation to increase access to sporting events for youth and families who might not otherwise be able to attend.
